Annual Bute Schools - Essay and Art Competition - 2011


Each year the students in the three schools of Bute are invited to take part in a Baird of Bute Society programme to write and essay about Andrew Blain Baird and/or to draw a piece of art that to them represents Baird's achievements and inspiration.

Each are judged and "winners" are determined in each age group in each school.

This year the prize for each winner was a Baird of Bute DVD, a "Bear of Bute" or Baird hat and a congratulatory letter from the Baird of Bute Society. The 10 overall winners also recived free admisson to the Baird Ceilidh at Mount Stuart and a ride on the University of Edinburgh Balloon which was docked on the lawn at Mount Stuart.
